Cadbury Picnic chocolate bar: No picnic

"A Picnic chocolate bar is chewy, nutty and difficult to eat. GPY&R Melbourne challenged its audience to eat a Picnic in the space of a :30 commercial break. People filmed themselves using mobile phones, webcams and handycams and then created their own TV ads using the website, http://www.itsnopicnic.tv. In an Australian first, every single ad that went to air on television (200+) was unique, and created using the website" Ads of the world

Great idea to get people envolved!

I want them to hurry up with a British one.. thinking 5-6 Jaffa cakes in a minute would be a good shout :D

Storyboard-00

Just images with simple camera directions to give an idea of what each shot consists of.
The images are not set to a specific time duration and so the tempo will change for the final trailer.
This is just so you can see the different shot ideas.

Creative Verbatim Site

This is a great little site which throws up random little monsters created by selecting Verbatim products.
Probably based on the transformer concept and you get to control 3 moves and battle other peoples monsters.

Only thing i did notice was that there didnt seem to be that much information on the actuall products. maybe it will be in V.2 :P
it would be cool to be able to select different items and see different abilities and status, it would benefit the site if you could see the products details as well

Got 99 Problems but Christ ain’t 1?

Came across this video the other day and found it pretty good.

Don't really belive in all the Jay-Z is a devil worshiper  etc but the guy does have some skills, would like to see a rap response than a statement from Jay-Z. He seems to pick up on the Sasha Fierce thing which i've been saying for a while!

Paper-StopMotion Animation

Just finished my first term of my final year  and came across this little piece of animation!

could have done with finding this before i handed my final piece in. its such a simple concept but im sure it took hours to do.
the result is a nice and rough animation which i really like and would have wanted to experiment with it for my own work.

oh well

Donato Sanson's other works a bit... out there but its this piece which is pretty cool (more for the techique than the content)

LG 3D

Looks like LG will be the first to role out a 3D HD monitor!!!
LG 3D
I was playing with a 3D monitor a while back when i went to Eurogamer and i found the detail and quality mind blowing! (Batman Arkham Asylam)

So are 3D monitors the way forward? will we all be sitting around in 3D classes in 2 years time?

hard to say really but i am surprised there still isnt a way of creating the 3D montior with out the need for 3D glasses. (im sure theres a reason for this but im just not sure i want to sit there with my glasses and a head set.. might as well just get a helmet)

Esquire – Augmented Reality

From the looks of it Augmented reality will be getting main stream soon.
I first came across it in my placment year when KMP were playing around with a tester it looked really nice and soon there were companies using it here and there such as the baseball cards and a clothes tester

and now the magazine Esquire have put it into one of thier issues. It even has Robert Downey Jr running around doing different things in it.

im sure we will soon be seeing it everywhere.

Here's an old clip explaining what it is and what the major benfits of it could be:

Theo Jansen at TED

We looked at movements in animals last week and spent some time on ToonBoom making rough animations of animals moving and Theo Jansen was mentioned for his creatures.

As you can see they are really quite impressive and i think the reason why they work so well is because he's actually working like evolution does and building a creature entirely from scratch. he first started out with an animal which needed a person to push it and now hes envolved his own method of capturing air and storing air and progressed to a "brain" which can feel obsitcles.

I think the next "KMP+ Sam" night out is meant to be in January so I hope to see more of you KMP people out!

Kasabian Football Hero

Haha pretty sick stuff. The fact that they got 76% after only a few games is well good! it would have made a great third year project if someone was doing user interaction or somthing like that.

Eurogamer Expo ‘09

Me and Tom went to the Eurogamer Expo '09 on Wednesday (I forgot about it on the Tuesday) and it was well worth it. I'd never been to a games expo thing before so wasn't sure what to expect but it was just basically a massive roomw ith loads of new games and a lot of other people who are interested in games.

I was there trying to get reseach and where as Selby was just busying running around queing for the new releases. We got glimpses into games such as Assasins Creed 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Halo ODST, God of War 3 and loads more.

The highlight for me was Batman Arkham Asylum. This was because not only did i get a few clips of the cape (my research material)

But we got to play the game in 3D! now I couldn't get a video of this because obviously you have to wear the glasses and everything but the game just looks amazing in 3D. There is a slight issues I reckon with the HUD, the charcter and the background and the objects flying at you, all being on a different level and this perception of depth can get a bit annoying so i don't think i could play for more than a hour with out taking a break but it does look amazing.
